What is the creative process? What comes first:
technique or technology? The idea or the product? A perfect plan or deviation from it? The expected or the accidental? And what is it that lies between them? What is the secret? It depends on who you ask. Creators have always been attracted by what is concealed, invisible. In the process of interpretation, technology emphasizes technique, prompting curiosity; risk creates pressure, chance generates uniqueness, and the concept is formed in the process of time.
A first fleeting, caressing glance at the rich textures before us – textures
that convey ambiguity, a somewhat-hard softness and an alienated sensuality – notes the organic homogeneity at the heart of the work created by textile designer Tzuri Gueta. The appearance of the object is deceptive. It appears to be the product of a highly technological casting process, while its uniqueness is in fact in using a technique that steers a novel material – with unsophisticated means and a free hand – into the realm of traditional textile.
